  1. VM you want to convert is powered down.<\/li>\n
  2. SSH into the host.<\/li>\n
  3. cd \/vmfs\/volumes\/DatastoreName\/virtualtoconvert<\/em><\/strong><\/li>\n
  4. change thick to thin volume whit this command\u00a0vmkfstools -i old.vmdk -d thin new.vmdk<\/em><\/strong><\/li>\n
  5. remove old disk from VM without delete from datastore<\/li>\n
  6. Unregister VM from ESXi inventory(Right-click VM > Unregister<\/strong>)<\/li>\n
  7. Re-register the VM (Create \/ Register VM > Register an existing virtual machine<\/strong>)<\/li>\n
  8. Add new Disk to VM<\/li>\n
  9. Boot the VM and check all is well.<\/li>\n
  10. Delete old vmdk and flat.vmdk files –\u00a0rm old.vmdk && rm old-flat.vmdk<\/em><\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
